PERIO-FLUSH: For everyday battles against periodontal disease

PERIO – FLUSH

Solution for rinsing periodontal pockets

PERIO-FLUSH is a solution for rinsing periodontal pockets. It provides immediate relief to patients, reduces the titer of anaerobic bacteria and supports the reconstruction of the epithelial attachment

Key benefits

Formula based on domiphen bromide: PERIO-FLUSH does not contain irritating chlorhexidine, which makes it gentle on the gums. Its base is domiphen bromide, which is effective and at the same time gentle on the mucous membranes.

No foaming: The preparation does not foam during rinsing, which reduces patient discomfort and facilitates use.

No antibiotics: The product does not contain antibiotics, which eliminates the risk of excessive use and bacterial resistance.

Clinically tested: Tested on a large group of patients (Clinical study No. UR.DNB.4501.0001.2018)

Acute conditions – immediate intervention

After tartar removal

After scaling and mechanical removal of the deposits, we irrigate the pockets to remove any remaining crushed stone and sediment. This not only speeds healing and reduces bleeding, but also lowers the bacterial load, aiding in the regeneration of the epithelial attachment. Patients require maintenance irrigant until the pocket reaches physiological depth.

Teeth with difficult eruption

Painful cases – lower wisdom teeth, fifths, upper canines and wisdom teeth – often erupt in a crowded, inflamed area and covered with hanging gum. Because the patient is unable to clean these areas themselves, they require regular rinsing. For those who decide not to have the hanging gum surgically removed, we use multiple maintenance rinses.

Inflammation of pockets in class II fillings (lack of correct contact points)

Almost half of cases of inflammatory pockets occur in these areas. Patients often present with severe pain. Interdental irrigation usually solves the problem, but in many cases it is necessary to rebuild the contact points to prevent recurrence.

Pockets around orthodontic appliances

Orthodontists estimate that every tenth patient has trouble maintaining hygiene around the appliance. We rinse inflammations and remind about proper hygiene.

Pockets of teeth to be extracted

Teeth to be extracted often have extensive inflammation of the gums. By flushing the pockets before extraction, we reduce the risk of dry socket and limit the possibility of transferring infection to the bone.

Inflammation of pockets under bridges and crowns

Lack of proper hygiene around bridges, crowns, denture clasps or orthodontic appliances leads to inflammation. Regular rinsing is necessary to avoid the problem from getting worse. In many cases, patients require cyclical rinsing every few months.

Chronic conditions – maintenance rinse

After tartar removal

We rinse the pockets at regular intervals until they reach physiological depth (4-5 mm).

Patients prone to acute inflammation: rinse every 2-3 weeks

Patients with good oral hygiene: every 2-3 months

Maximum recommended interval: 3 months

Teeth with difficult eruption

We rinse the pockets until the tooth has completely erupted. If the inflammation persists despite full eruption and the gum does not disappear, it is necessary to remove it. In many cases, orthodontic treatment eliminates the problem.

Rinsing under bridges and around crowns

In patients with fixed prosthetic restorations, poor hygiene leads to inflammation of the gums and periodontium. Regular rinsing of the pockets is necessary to avoid:

✔️ Loss of bridge pillars

✔️ Deepening inflammation

✔️ Development of secondary caries

FAQ - Frequently asked questions Rozwiń/zwiń

What is the difference between PERIO-FLUSH and Parosin?

PERIO-FLUSH is the latest (third) generation of periodontal pocket rinse, a successor to Parosin. The basic difference in the composition of both products is the lack of silver colloid in PERIO-FLUSH. PERIO-FLUSH technology is a result of the presence of domiphen bromide and the appropriate tonicity of the solution regulated by mineral salts.

The PERIO-FLUSH syringe dispenser has been optimized with a safe and tight luer-lock attachment.

How does PERIO-FLUSH work?

PERIO-FLUSH is a solution of mineral salts with the addition of a quaternary ammonium salt (domiphen bromide). The main action of the PERIO-FLUSH product is the mechanical removal of inflammatory content from the periodontal pocket.

Thanks to the use of a syringe set and a suitably curved applicator, the liquid can be precisely introduced and dosed into the periodontal pocket. The liquid flows out under pressure (small but sufficient), which facilitates rinsing, washing and cleaning the periodontal pocket from inflammatory content.

The use of surface-active domiphen bromide, on the one hand, facilitates the washing out of the contents of periodontal pockets (it is a surface-active substance with emulsifying properties), and on the other hand, it acts as a preservative and supports the antimicrobial activity of the product.

What does PERIO-FLUSH taste like?

The product is distinctly salty, with a delicate apple-mint flavor.

Can PERIO-FLUSH be used at home? Give to a patient?

The PERIO-FLUSH product is intended for professional use only, therefore its application can only take place in a dental office, under the supervision of a doctor. Attempting to perform such a procedure by the patient alone will not only be ineffective, but may also lead to damage of soft tissue, therefore the product should not be given/sold to patients for home use.

Is one PERIO-FLUSH syringe intended for one patient?

Due to the possibility of transmitting infection from patient to patient (cross-contamination), one syringe (and of course one applicator) may only be used for one patient, optimally – in one periodontal pocket.

How often should the rinsing procedure be repeated? How long does it take to see improvement?

We recommend performing this treatment every 1-3 months until the pocket is less than 5 mm.

A clear improvement should be visible after the first use of the medical device. Proper removal of inflammatory content from the periodontal pocket significantly reduces pain and significantly reduces swelling. The long-term effectiveness of rinsing will depend on whether rinsing managed to flush out all contamination from the pocket.

Can PERIO-FLUSH be used on children and pregnant women?

PERIO-FLUSH is safe and well tolerated by patients. There are no known cases of allergy or hypersensitivity to the product. If the patient is not allergic to any of the product’s ingredients, PERIO-FLUSH is safe and can be used without restrictions in adults and children over 6 years of age.

Why liquid and not gel?

PERIO-FLUSH is used to rinse gingival pockets, remove food residues, and wash out inflammatory content. Free rinsing of the pocket is only possible with a low-viscosity product. Therefore, PERIO-FLUSH cannot be a gel or settle in the pockets and/or on the gums.

Gel retention in the pocket “blocks” the gum and prevents the regeneration of epithelial attachment fibers.
